The choice for the new Bachelorette, Taylor Frankie Paul, surprised a lot of fans because she's not from Bachelor Nation.
The mom of three came from a different world and reality show, pulling back the curtain on her romantic life in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
People called her a Mormon “MomTok” influencer.
That has increased interest in her dating history, which is somewhat complicated.
According to People, when Paul first became famous online, she was married to her then-husband, Tate Paul. They went on to have two kids together, daughter Indie (born in 2019) and son Ocean (born in 2020).
She announced their split in a controversial TikTok live, in which she revealed she had allowed him "soft intimacy," which People defined as "an agreement with Tate to pursue intimacy with other people without going 'all the way.'"
According to Us Weekly, the new Bachelorette then moved on with boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. However, that relationship has obviously ended.
The reality star told Us Weekly that she wasn't sure how Mortensen would react to the news.
"I have not confirmed it with him. It’s just not something that’s been on, like, my priority list to confirm with him,” Taylor told the outlet. “I don’t know exactly how he’ll react or feel, but he does know that we opened the gates of dating other people. [He’ll] probably [be] sad. I assume that it’s like, ‘Whoa, she’s gonna be dating people, a lot, and then also, in front of me,’ and that’s probably gonna be kind of hard to watch.”
She added, “I can’t speak for him, but I’d assume it wouldn’t be the best news he’s heard on that day.”
According to Page Six, Paul's son Ever is her child with Mortensen.
Paul announced she was the new Bachelorette on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper on September 9.
