Peter Greene was a character actor who starred in many well-known movies, from Pulp Fiction to Training Day.

He was often cast as the criminal or villain in movies, such as playing Zed in the iconic Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction.

Another classic movie co-starring Greene was The Mask.

On December 12, the veteran character actor's manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed that the actor had died. He "was found dead inside his Lower East Side apartment," according to NBC News.

However, Greene's cause of death remains a mystery as Edwards did not reveal how the actor died. Greene was only 60 years old.

Greene "was found unresponsive inside his Clinton Street apartment around 3:25 p.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene," The New York Post reported.

“He was a terrific guy,” Edwards said to The Post on December 12.

“Truly one of the great actors of our generation. His heart was as big as there was. I’m going to miss him. He was a great friend.”

According to The Post, Greene was still acting and was set to star in an independent movie called Mascots. He also starred in the iconic movie The Usual Suspects.

Edwards told The Post that the writer-director of Greene's upcoming movie broke into tears when informed of the news. “He worked with so many amazing actors and directors,” Edwards said to The Post of Greene. “He fought his demons but overcame them.”

Edwards was born in New Jersey. "Peter Greene rapidly established himself as the screen villain of the 1990s with a host of characterizations in both dark melodramas and spry comedies," TVInsider reported.

According to TVInsider, Greene ran away from home at age 15 and ended up living on the streets of New York City and using and dealing drugs. He started hiding in theaters and "drifted into acting," the site reported.
