Author Colleen Hoover is weighing in on the legal drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively.

The two actors co-starred in the movie based on Hoover's book, It Ends With Us.

They've been involved in a messy legal war featuring a lawsuit and counter-claims.

Now, Hoover is giving her thoughts on the accusations in a new interview with Elle, which covered a wide range of topics, from Hoover's origins as an author to her success in Hollywood, where several of her books are being made into films. The interview then veered into the Baldoni-Lively situation and, although the publication noted that Hoover chose her words carefully, she still had a lot to say about it.

Elle reported that other than being on set for a few days and being an executive producer of the film, Hoover was “completely unaware that anything was happening.”

Hoover described the situation with Baldoni and Lively as “unfortunate” and “disappointing.”

“It feels like a circus,” Hoover told Elle. “When there are real people involved, with real feelings and emotions. This actually truly has impacted some of the actors’ careers in huge ways. And I just find it all around sad.”

Elle noted that Hoover is "leery of breathing more life" into the back-and-forth accusations.

“I’m just trying to stay removed from the negativity. I have my own story I could tell … but I don’t want to bring attention to it, and I don’t want to have to put someone else down to lift myself up," she told Elle.

"So I’d rather just ignore it and let people think and say what they’re going to say,” she added. “I feel like it’s so big at this point that there’s nothing anyone can say to change whatever opinion people have of it, even though no one has the actual truth. Not even me.”
