Actor Alan 'Yu' Menglong Dead at 37 After Reportedly Falling From Building

Yu Menglong's tragic death was confirmed by his manager in a social media statement.

The Chinese actor Alan "Yu" Menglong has died at the age of 37.

That's according to Asia One, which reported that his management team confirmed the tragic news on the social media platform Weibo.

"With unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on Sept 11. Police have ruled out any criminality. We hope he rests in peace and his loved ones remain strong," the post on Weibo read, according to Asia One.

According to The Standard, which published a screenshot of the Weibo post, Yu was "born in 1988 in Urumqi, Xinjiang" and was an "actor, singer, and MV director."

He was known for competing in a Chinese singing contest called Super Boy in 2013, the publication noted, alleging that he "fell to his death" from a building.

He went on to star in programs like Go Princess Go and Eternal Love. He also played Lin Fang in The Moon Brightens for You.

The management team's post was also shared on a Reddit thread where people posted tributes to the actor.

"RIP. This is tragic and sudden. He will be missed. 😞" wrote one fan on the Reddit thread. The news also spread from Weibo to X.

"RIP. I will forever remember him in his role as Bai Qian's brother," another fan wrote.

"So incredibly sad. Nothing but peace and love to those that knew and loved him," wrote another fan. Other Chinese stars also posted tributes on Weibo, according to screenshots on X.

Asia One reported that the news trended widely on Weibo, after first appearing via a now-deleted post by an alleged photographer. Then, his management team confirmed that he had died.

"Very sad to hear about Yu’s passing. Rest in Peace and my condolences to all Yu’s family and friends," another fan wrote on the Reddit thread.
