Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning when Sophia Hutchins, Caitlyn Jenner’s longtime friend and manager, died in a devastating ATV crash in Malibu, California.
Hutchins, 29, was driving the off-road vehicle near Jenner’s Malibu home on July 2 when she collided with the back of a moving car, sending the ATV off the road and down a 350-foot ravine, according to TMZ. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene, but no one else was injured.
Hutchins and Jenner shared a close relationship, beginning in 2015 when they met through their hairstylists. At the time, Jenner was publicly beginning her transition and came out as transgender. Hutchins, also a transgender woman, appeared on Jenner’s E! reality show, I Am Cait, and became her manager in 2017.
Hutchins, a Pepperdine University graduate with a degree in economics and finance, also founded the sunscreen mist company Lumasol SPF, where she served as CEO. She was involved with Jenner’s philanthropic efforts as CEO of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, which supports the LGBTQ community.
So far, Jenner nor any of the Kardashians have yet to publicly comment on Hutchins’ passing.
