Timothy Busfield, best known for starring in The West Wing and sports drama Field of Dreams, has been issued an arrest warrant for child sexual abuse.

According to KOAT, the 68-year-old actor has been charged with two counts of child abuse and criminal sexual contact of a minor, which allegedly occurred during his time on TV drama The Cleaning Lady.

Police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, reportedly began their investigation in November 2024, after staff members at University of New Mexico Hospital claimed that two children appeared to be groomed by Busfield. The children, one of whom was seven years old at the time the alleged grooming began, claimed the actor would touch them inappropriately over their clothing on set.

Although sexual contact was not mentioned during their interview with police, the boys claimed that Busfield, whom they called "Uncle Tim," would tickle them on their stomach and legs without consent.

At the start of the investigation, Busfield said that he didn't remember what the children alleged, although it "wouldn't be uncommon" for him. Busfield went on to claim that although his family purchased toys for the children during Christmas, the boys' mother sought retribution for her children not being brought back for another season.

According to the complaint, the child, which is only identified by its initials, has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. A social worker documented the child saying they have had nightmares about Busfield touching them and woken up scared.

Multiple witnesses who were on set said the children were assigned a studio set teacher who would occasionally "lose sight" of them.

As of writing, Busfield has not yet responded to the charges and has not been arrested.
