On a recent visit to Today with Hoda & Jenna, actress Tia Mowry assured fans that she still has a good relationship with her twin sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley.

A sneak peek from Tia's new We TV reality show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, had many viewers concerned after the 46-year-old seemed to imply that she was no longer close with Tamera.

In divorcing actor Cory Hardict last year, Tia shared that in feeling "alone," it was in "times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could, you know, pick up the phone and call her."

"But that's just not where we are right now," Tia admitted around the three-minute mark of the video below.

The clip made its rounds on social media, but after Tia explained to Us Weekly that she meant she and Tamera were no longer close in proximity, she also gave Today an update about their relationship on Wednesday (Oct. 2).

“I’ve been in this industry for such a long time and I know that some things can be taken out of context, so it is what it is," Tia told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.

Tia also shared that she's spoken to Tamera since the clip went viral and that both agreed that the estrangement rumors were "ridiculous."

"As siblings, it is very normal that as we get older, we take on different roles and responsibilities. Some of those roles are being married and being a mother. Her children, they lean on her. My children lean on me and that’s what I meant by that. That we’re just not as close in proximity,” Tia continued. "We don’t live in the same town, and it’s the same thing with my brother [Tavior]. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee."

As she previously told Us Weekly, Tia stressed that the sisters still maintain a "beautiful connection" that can't be broken.

"There’s this bond that will always be, and there’s so much love for one another and each other. So, sorry y’all," she said.

While Tia and Hardict's son, Cree, 13, will not be in My Next Act, some scenes will feature their daughter, Cairo, six. Elsewhere in the interview, Tia highlighted that her "chosen family" meaning close friends, will be included, but that Tamera will not be on the show. The two previously co-starred on Style Network show Tia & Tamera from 2011 to 2013.

"Family is there, and it’s amazing and it’s wonderful, but at the same time, family is not always accessible," Tia said.

She continued, "As siblings, we grow up and we put on different roles and responsibilities for ourselves. We get married, we have kids and so you will not be seeing my sister on the show."

Adding that her twin "is living her life and has a different trajectory," Tamera gave a similar message to Entertainment Tonight in May upon hearing the news about My Next Act.
