Details about Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good's wedding were revealed on a new episode of The Tamron Hall Show.
The couple, who married in March after roughly two years of dating, were joined by Majors' mother, Terri Anderson-Watson, on the Thursday (Sept. 11) episode. Anderson-Watson officiated the marriage, while Good's mother, Tyra Wardlow-Doyle, was a witness during the private ceremony in Los Angeles.
In the interview, Anderson-Watson, who is a pastor, told Hall that she was "concerned about their spiritual position in marriage."
"Because this is a vow they're making before God. It had to be for real. It had to be deepened. It had to be lasting," she continued.
"So, they actually went through counseling before they went to get that marriage license in Texas. So, they actually started with me. We went through sessions and they were sure," Anderson-Watson explained.
The pastor said that she counseled the couple regarding "commitment" and their shared "understanding of spirituality."
Anderson-Watson also reflected on the difficulties of Majors being ousted by the entertainment industry after being found guilty of assault and harassment in 2023.
The actor was sentenced to probation and a year in a domestic violence intervention program in his conviction of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Anderson-Watson said that she never lost faith in Majors, her oldest son, whom she called her "superhero."
"He was like, 'Mom, it's going to be OK, Mom. This is what happened. You're going to hear stuff, but this is what happened. I need you to know this on the front,'" she explained. "And because I know him, I know him. So when I married them, I knew that they were ready."
Good was previously married to producer and motivational speaker DeVon Franklin from 2012 to 2022.
