The home decor and cooking legend thought the 2024 documentary made her appear close to retirement.

Martha Stewart has some gripes with her 2024 Netflix documentary.

The home living entrepreneur was a guest on the Monday (June 1) episode of podcast One on One with Kris Fade, where she elaborated on why she disliked the documentary. Previously, in a 2024 interview with The New York Times, Stewart, 84, thought that the second half of the film looked “a bit lazy.”

“Those last scenes with me looking like a lonely old lady walking hunched over in the garden? Boy, I told him to get rid of those,” Stewart said at the time.“And he refused. I hate those last scenes. Hate them.”

While in conversation with Fade, Stewart doubled down on her 2024 comments. “I thought it made me seem like I was done and dusted,” she said around the 36:00 mark below.

“I don't like done and dusted. I don't want to have that,” she continued. “I want to be vibrant and and alive until who knows when.”

Stewart will have another chance for her life story to be captured, as actress Cate Blanchett has signed on to portray her in an upcoming biopic directed by Zola filmmaker Janicza Bravo. The movie is currently under working title Good Thing.
