Kristen Stewart wouldn't be opposed to readapting the Twilight film series.

The actress, who recently made her directorial debut with The Chronology of Water, was asked how she would envision Twilight from behind the camera while attending Palm Springs International Film Festival Creative Impact Awards. While chatting with Entertainment Tonight correspondent Denny Directo, Stewart showed interest in revisiting the late 2000s vampire franchise, which she led as protagonist Bella Swan.

The Twilight saga, based on the best-selling book series by Stephanie Meyer, co-starred Robert Pattinson, whom Stewart previously dated, along with Taylor Lautner.

"I would love — look. I love what Catherine [Hardwicke] did, I love what Chris [Weitz] did, I love what all of the directors did with the movies," Stewart told ET's Directo.

"They were so themselves and weird and kind of like, squirrelly, and just so present in that time when they didn’t really know what they were yet, like before they blew up," she continued.

"Imagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support," Stewart added. I don’t know...I would love to readapt. Yeah, sure, I’ll do the remake. I’m doing it. I’m committed."

The Twilight Saga consisted of five movies, concluding with Breaking Dawn — Part 2 in 2012. An animated adaptation of Meyer's 2020 Twilight book, Midnight Sun, has been planned by Netflix. The film series was a box office phenom, grossing over $3.3 billion globally.

Stewart last talked Twilight in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, sharing that the third film, directed by David Slade, and final two films, directed by Bill Condon, "had personality, in spite of a really stifled process."

"They feel almost overtly, bizarrely, spastically themselves," Stewart added.
