Besties Kim Kardashian and La La Anthony are bringing their Group Chat to Hulu with some help from screenwriter and producer Kenya Barris.

According to Deadline, Kardashian–who's had her sights on scriptwriting and acting for some time–has signed a first-look deal with 20th Century Studios. With the deal expected to span drama and comedy, it will begin with the upcoming Hulu show Group Chat, co-produced by 20th Century and BET Studios. Created by Barris, the show stars Anthony and is based on her 2014 book The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness.

Kardashian, Anthony and Barris will also serve as executive producers. Anthony, a former MTV VJ and occasional entertainment host, has starred in numerous projects over the last 25 years, more recently the crime drama BMF and the romantic comedy The Perfect Find.

“I’m incredibly interested in telling stories that are personal, complicated, relevant, from my own experiences and those familiar to me,” Kardashian said in a statement.

In addition to Group Chat, Kardashian is also executive producer on the upcoming Netflix show Calabasas, which stars Emma Roberts, and she'll co-produce and star in the comedy The Fifth Wheel.

Kardashian discussed her pivot into acting on the latest season of Hulu's The Kardashians, 15 years since making her theatrical debut in Disaster Movie.

"I wasn't planning on this career and was like, I'm not gonna get ahead of myself here," she said. "I'm really nervous about it 'cause I have to fucking deliver. It's such a challenge for me and I want to welcome a challenge, and I'm like, every year I want to do something that makes me so uncomfortable that I really have to challenge myself."
