ChatGPT isn't the law school cheat code that Kim Kardashian thought it would be.
The reality television star and SKIMS co-founder revealed that she sought legal advice from the technology during her Vanity Fair lie detector test with her All's Fair costar Teyana Taylor. In May, Kardashian graduated from a California law apprenticeship after being in the program for six years.
Around the fifteen-minute mark of the video below, Kardashian denied using ChatGPT for life and dating advice before admitting that she has acquired legal knowledge from it.
"When I need to know the answer to a question, I'll take a picture and snap it and put it in there," Kardashian told Taylor, before the actress and singer suggested that she was "cheating."
"They're always wrong," Kardashian continued. "It has made me fail tests ... all the time. "And then I'll get mad and I'll yell at it."
Taylor then asked whether the Kardashian would consider the tool a "frenemy." "Yes, a frenemy," said the mother of four. "But then I will talk to it and say,
'Hey, you're gonna make me fail. How does that make you feel that you need to really know these answers? I'm coming to you.' And then it'll say back to me, 'This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. So you knew the answer all along.'"
After Taylor called out ChatGPT's possibly "toxic" ways, Kardashian joked that the software needs to "do better." "Because I'm leaning to them to really help me and she is teaching me a life lesson and then becoming my therapist to tell me why I need to believe in myself after they got the answer wrong," Kardashian said. "It's like a thing. I screenshot all the time and send it in my group chat. 'Like, can you believe this bitch is talking to me like this? This is insane.'"
Hoping to walk in the same footsteps as her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, the designer shared on The Graham Norton Show last month that she'll soon be "qualified" after her bar exam results are announced.
"I hope to practice law. Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want," she said on the show.
