The Power universe is expanding with a new spinoff.
OG Power stars Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr. will reprise their roles as Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick in upcoming Starz series Power: Legacy, Variety reports. Eight episodes have been greenlit for the show’s debut season.
Both actors have returned as their respective characters in other Power installments, with Rainey being the protagonist of Power Book II: Ghost for 4 seasons and Sikora being the main player in Power Book IV: Force. Sikora and Rainey reunited in the third season finale of Force in January, which confirms that the co-stars were teasing their soon-to-be-released series. The actors also confirmed the news in a collaborative Instagram post.
“Power never dies, and this chapter is our biggest yet,” stated executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who also starred as Kanan Stark in Power. “Fans have been waiting to see Tariq and Tommy together, and now they’re taking over New York City. Bringing Joseph and Michael back together is special, they’ve turned these characters into true icons of the ‘Power’ universe.”
Legacy marks the fifth Power spinoff, and another planned spinoff, Power: Origins, will center the younger years of characters James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Egan. Creed III star Spence Moore II will star as Ghost in the show, succeeding Omari Hardwick and Egan will be played by newcomer Charlie Mann.
