Jessica Alba has taken a moment to look back at a nude scene she filmed for Fantastic Four.
On Friday (December 5), the actor and Honest Company founder reflected on filming the 2005 Marvel Studios film during her appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival. Alba said shooting while undressed and surrounded on a bridge was her "least favorite scene."
The scene depicts Sue Storm, a.k.a. Invisible Woman, reappearing beneath her bra and underwear before Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (played by Ioan Gruffudd) says, "Wow, you've been working out."
"I thought that was awful. It was very humiliating in real life," the actor said, according to Variety. "I grew up with a pretty conservative family, and I am a pretty modest person. I dreaded that scene for weeks. I have a lot of whiplash from those days."
Despite the traumatic experience, Alba said she "loved" playing Storm for two films, calling the fictional character someone she "looked up to."
"She was very maternal and very kind, but also not a pushover; she spoke her mind," Alba said. "She had a great moral compass. No matter who you are, you can look up to her. Oftentimes, the women in these stories need to be saved by a guy or the villain, the problem in the story. This was back then. It’s different now."
The pre-Marvel Cinematic Universe Fantastic Four franchise was a box office hit, with the first installment and Silver Surfer sequel grossing over $634 million combined. The films were succeeded by Fantastic Four in 2015, where Storm was played by Kate Mara, and this year's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with Vanessa Kirby as the character.
These days, Alba is happy in a new relationship with actor Danny Ramirez. The pair hit the town as an official couple during the Baby2Baby Gala last month.
The couple had been regularly spotted together in the months since Alba announced her pending divorce from Cash Warren after 17 years of marriage. The estranged spouses, who separated last December, share three children, Honor Marie, 17, Haven Garner, 14, and Hayes Alba, 7.
