Jeannie Mai refuses to take the "lessons" of 2024 into the new year.

The talk show host and media personality, who divorced Jeezy in June, spoke to People last month and shared plans to "leave" the hardships of this year behind her. Despite her divorce from Jeezy being finalized months ago, the ex-spouses are still in legal conflict over their settlement. The former couple, who were married from 2021 to 2024, share a two-year-old daughter, Monaco.

"The lessons from this year are the lessons for this year," Mai told People. "I'm excited for next year. I want to learn new things."

"I learned very humbly that all the things that I believed in worked for me at a certain time in my life," she continued. "But now, there are a new set of rules because they're not just for me, they're for my daughter."

Among Mai's rules are to trust her intuition. "One of [the rules] is listening to myself — like actually listening to my own feelings and not trying to prove myself different when your body's telling you, 'No, that that ain’t cool' or ‘That’s not okay' or 'That person is not safe," she explained.

In 2025, Mai plans to follow her "own rules from before."

"I want to walk into 2025 like, 'Who are these new people God’s going to bring me? What are these new situations? How are we going to face forward with all the skills and traits that I'm proud of?’ And to listen to myself and learn new things," she concluded.

The divorce battle between Mai and Jeezy was vicious this year, with The Real host accusing her ex-husband of domestic abuse. Jeezy responded by calling the allegation "deeply disturbing." Last month, per In Touch Weekly, Mai asked a judge to cease a "secret subpoena" that Jeezy issued over her bank records, which she called a harassment attempt.
