Jamie Foxx was allegedly involved in a scuffle that required him to get stitches.
According to TMZ, the actor-comedian was alleged to have been in a fight at the Beverly Hills location of Mr. Chow's while hosting a birthday dinner on Friday, Dec. 13. Around 10 p.m., police were called to the restaurant after hearing about the alleged altercation inside. Sources told TMZ that by the time police arrived at the scene, the Academy Award winner had left. A report was taken with Foxx's name listed, meaning he will be contacted by authorities.
Per a spokesperson for Foxx, the 57-year-old sustained some brutal injuries during the incident. "Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth," the spokesperson told TMZ. "He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands."
The alleged fight comes mere days after the Netflix premiere of Foxx's new comedy special, What Had Happened Was, where he revealed that a severe brain bleed caused him to have a stroke. The medical emergency was previously kept under wraps early last year.
"Damn. Me. Me, man. Me. Here’s the thing, when you dream about what you wanna be in life, you don’t dream tragedy," Foxx said during his emotional revelation. "You dream everything is good. … You don’t dream that something could go wrong, but when something does go wrong, you need a sister, four-foot-eleven, full of nothing but love."
