James Ransone's death was unexpected and difficult for fans, but far more painful to his widow, Jamie McPhee.

The late actor, who married McPhee in 2017, died from an apparent suicide last Friday (December 19) after spending nearly 25 years in memorable television shows and films like The Wire, Sinister, It Chapter Two and more. Ransone shared two children with his wife of eight years, Jack, 6, and Violet, 4.

In an Instagram post on Sunday (December 21), McPhee mourned the loss of her husband while thanking Ransone for sharing their two children with her.

"I told you I have loved you 1000 times before and I know I will love you again," McPhee captioned the post, next to a photo of Ransome proudly holding her baby bump.

"You told me - I need to be more like you and you need to be more like me - and you were so right. Thank you for giving me the greatest gifts - you, Jack and Violet. We are forever," McPhee concluded.

The actor was also mourned by fellow entertainers like The Wire alum Wendell Pierce and Natasha Lyonne, who starred in Poker Face with Ransone.

"Love you with everything I got and holding our beloved brilliant peejo with grace gratitude and cosmic peace into this life and the next — family forever ♾️ beautiful jamie you are the best of us we love you," the actress commented beneath McPhee's post.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was also established to support Ransone's surviving immediate family. It refers to the actor, nicknamed "PJ," "funny, magnetic, brilliant, and endlessly alive."

"His wife, Jamie, known by her friends as Skipper, and their children, Jack and Violet, were the center of his world," the description continues. "They loved him infinitely, and he loved them just as fiercely in return. Their bond was deep, joyful, and unmistakable to anyone who witnessed it."
