In 2022, Elba founded Elba Hope Foundation, which focuses on youth advocacy, community empowerment and sustainable development. The organization was full circle for the Beast actor, who received a grant from The Prince’s Trust, now The King’s Trust, to attend the National Youth Music Theatre when he was 18 years old. At Elba’s alma mater, Barking & Dagenham College, students can access the Idris Elba Studio, the campus’ premiere media and production facility.
in May, Elba and his wife, who’s a goodwill ambassador of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, were on featured on a cover of the Time 100 package for their years-long dedication as humanitarians.
