Disney Shares Special Look of 'Snow White' Song "Waiting On a Wish"

Sung by Rachel Zegler, "Waiting On a Wish" is written by duo Pasek and Paul.

The live-action Snow White remake will have a new original song.

On Christmas Day (Dec. 25), Disney unwrapped the gift of the movie's song "Waiting On a Wish," written by EGOT musical duo Benji Pasek and Justin Paul. The Pasek & Paul will have an additional material on the soundtrack, while "Waiting on a Wish" also sung by Rachel Zegler, who plays the film's titular character.

Snow White, which releases on March 21, 2025, will be a live reimagining of the 1937 animated version, and in a Variety profile from October, Zegler shared that the character was her mother's "favorite princess."

"When she was growing up, there weren’t a lot of dark-haired princesses, and that was the one she could relate to," she continued.

Director Marc Webb added that the film's script supervisor "wept" upon hearing Zegler's voice. "But she also has an inherent grace, poise and goodness that reminds me so much of what is essential to Snow White," he added.

On the original Snow White soundtrack were classic songs like "With a Smile and a Song," "Someday My Prince Will Come" and "Whistle While You Work," which some recognized as being sampled and interpolated in a throwback Ying Yang Twins single.

Opposite Zegler in Snow White is Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, while the Seven Dwarfs will be CGI animated. Like the 1937 version, the 2025 iteration of the tale centers on Snow White, who's threatened to be killed by the Evil Queen. In a cottage, Snow White meets and befriends the Seven Dwarfs after fleeing into a forest.
