Trying homemade holiday treats resulted in Chrissy Teigen losing one of her front veneers.

On Sunday (December 21), the model and media personality posted an Instagram reel that began with her and her four children with John Legend making candy canes and ended with her hilariously showing her missing veneer. The couple, who married in 2013, share daughters Luna, 9, and Esti 2, along with sons Miles, 7, and Wren, 2.

After the children crushed chocolate cookies to use as 'dirt' in flower pots for the candy canes to be planted in, Teigen placed the candies in the pots overnight to surprise her children the following day. Teigen gave the candy a try and lost one of her veneers in the process, which she showed in the aftermath of the DIY crafting session.

"I tried to open one of these bad boys. My tooth feel off," Teigen said while showing her missing tooth. "It's a veneer, I have a whole piece. This is what moms do for their kids so you can think you grew a candy cane."

Teogen joked that she "tried to create magic" for her kids, but now doesn't have a tooth. Unfortunately, because of her busy schedule, Teigen couldn't go straight to the dentist, but had to attend Miles' winter recital, where she wore a mask to conceal her teeth between songs.

The clip ended with Teigen showing her gap-toothed smile next to the candy cane-filled pots.

Teigen opened up about her veneers in a 2016 interview with Refinery29, sharing that she "shaved away" her real teeth to make "pencil points for nice teeth."

"I was a notorious teeth-grinder, so all my front teeth became a couple millimeters shorter," Teigen told the outlet.
