Cedric the Entertainer didn't know Katt Williams had a problem with him until seeing the comedian's viral Club Shay Shay interview last year.

Williams lit up the podcast when he shared his grievances about fellow comedians Cedric, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart and more. When discussing The Neighborhood star, Williams called Cedric a "walrus" and accused him of joke theft and conspiring against him with Harvey and Rickey Smiley.

"We found out he can't sing, can't dance and doesn't write jokes," Williams told Shannon Sharpe about Cedric not living up to his "entertainer" title. "He did four comedy specials. They're so bad, Shannon, they're not available on Netflix or Tubi."

Cedric finally shared his thoughts on the interview while appearing on the Wednesday (Dec. 17) episode of Deon Cole's Funny Knowing You podcast. Around the 58-minute mark of the podcast, Cedric named Williams as a comedian who has stolen a joke from him.

After long laughter, Cedric explained that a young comic from St. Louis was rumored to have taken one of his comic bits.

"I think about it in the sense that we actually do live culturally in the same
kind of energy. And I always think that my particular sense of humor is mine," he continued. "You might do something that's similar to my idea, but I kind of grew up as a wordsmith, and we use a lot of a lot of language. We use a lot of wordplay in my family. So I just never like really bought into it unless somebody literally did my joke."

After saying that the comedian was arrogant, Cedric denied that Williams' interview affected him.

"One, it was social media, right?" Cedric said. "I've been around this gentleman many, many times. You're talking about something that happened in 2001, and now you in 2024 acting like the shit just happened."

He continued, "Like if you felt that way, say it to me, allow us a minute to do that."

Cedric added that he delivers his jokes following a "whole process," denying that he ever stole material from Williams.

"I was more disappointed that it started this energy where comics was going on dogging other comics," Cedric continued, adding that the "culture" was more confrontational in the past.

Harvey, who called Williams "petty" and a "punk-ass" during an Earn Your Leisure panel months after the Club Shay Shay episode dropped, explained that he later regretted the moment on The Pivot Podcast in September.

"I really shouldn't have said nothing, 'cause we not in the same league, dog," Harvey said at the time. "We shooting at two different baskets. I shouldn't even have said nothing. And so really, man, I think I would apologize to him if he took offense to what I said. I was joking, but I would apologize to him."
