16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis has revealed the sudden passing of her oldest son, Weston Gosa Jr.

The tragedy comes sixteen years after Purvis and her then-boyfriend introduced their son on the hit MTV show. On Tuesday (June 3), TMZ reported that Purvis shared the news about Weston Jr's death on Facebook. He was 16 years old.

"This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just dont understand," Purvis wrote in a status.

Although the reality television personality didn't confirm the cause of Weston's death, she called the news her "worst nightmare come true."

"How do you go on in life after losing a child? I'm in disbelief, this cannot be happening," she continued. "I don't want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can't describe the pain I am feeling."

"Rest in Peace, my baby Weston," Purvis also captioned a throwback picture of her and her late son. "I love you forever, precious. I'll never understand why life has to be so cruel. You'll always be my baby."

TMZ shared that Weston's stepmother, Amy Gosa, told fans on Facebook that Weston Jr. was found unresponsive in his sleep at 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning. After attempting CPR, the teen was rushed to a local hospital by the paramedics, where he was pronounced dead. The family is now waiting for autopsy results, but Weston is said to have suffered from medical issues, including diabetes.

In addition to Weston, Purvis and Weston Sr. share a younger son, River, who was born in 2014. Following 16 and Pregnant, Purvis lost custody of both children and was arrested last year for failing to make child support payments.
