It looks like Shia LaBeouf won’t be able to leave New Orleans anytime soon.
LaBeouf filed documents earlier this week, requesting to leave the country from March 1 to March 8 to see his father, Jeffrey, get baptized in Rome, Italy, according to a TMZ report.

His lawyers argued in front of a New Orleans judge on Thursday (Feb. 26) that LaBeouf has no court appearances for the requested dates, even offering the addresses where he will be during his stay. Nonetheless, the actor was denied the opportunity to leave the country. The judge also determined LaBeouf is now required to attend a rehab program.

On Feb. 17, LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans after getting into several fights amid Mardi Gras celebrations. A now-viral video showed a seemingly intoxicated LaBeouf shirtless while confronting passerby, eventually cutting to his arrest.

In a statement made to Complex by a New Orleans Police Department representative, the incident was recounted: “Investigators say a man identified as 39-year-old Shia LaBeouf was reportedly causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive at a Royal Street business. A staff member attempted to eject Mr. LaBeouf from the establishment. Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf, who used his closed fists on the victim several times.”

The actor reportedly left and returned to the scene shortly after, allegedly assaulting another person. Several people attempted to intervene and eventually had to hold him down until police arrived. After a hospital visit, he was charged with two counts of simple battery.
