The long-awaited Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premiered on Disney+ and Hulu today (March 24). During the hour-long special, filled with guest stars like Selena Gomez and Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus opened up about her past crushes. She confirmed to the host, Alex Cooper, that she dated fellow Disney channel star, Dylan Sprouse.
“Dylan was my crush,” the pop star said. “Their dad would take us to sushi. I was into the whole culture, and it was a two-for-one. Like, bring the brother. Hello!”
At the time, Dylan and his twin brother Cole Sprouse were known for their role in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, which aired a crossover episode with Hannah Montana and That’s So Raven in 2006 called That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana. A few years later, another crossover event with the twin’s spinoff show, The Suite Life on Deck, was released where Miley and Selena’s character from the Wizards of Waverly Place got lost at sea.
In 2008, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dylan made this joke about Miley: “We met at her set, I believe, and we dated. And then Nick Jonas walked by and it was over.”
As detailed in her book, Miles to Go, Miley dated Nick Jonas in 2006. Her hit song, 7 Things, was about their relationship. Jonas is now married to Priyanka Chopra and Miley is engaged to musician Maxx Morando. After he proposed during a trip to Asia, she made an appearance on Good Morning America where she stated: “I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered. And I’m telling you, I was so, so, so surprised.”
Dylan is married to model Barbara Palvin, after a countryside ceremony in her home country of Hungary.
