During an April 8 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Matt Bomer sat down to talk about his new film, Outcome, along with his costars Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz. When discussing how fame can have its downsides, Bomer told a story about a time when an excited fan almost hit him with their car.

"They were really excited,” Bomer said. “It wasn't the best way to break the ice, but they didn't mean harm. They just weren't thinking in the moment."

He added, "They were turning left and saw me as they were turning, I guess. They wanted to say hi, and then pulled over, and it was awkward. I'm always grateful that people have responded to whatever you've done, but that was definitely one of the times it got a little out of hand."

"My God, Matt Bomer, you were causing traffic accidents!" Reeves joked. Diaz added, "I'd crash my car if I saw you on the street.”

Outcome is a dark comedy written and directed by Jonah Hill. It follows Keanu Reeves’ character, Reef, a Hollywood star who is forced to atone for his past after he is threatened by old video footage.

According to Entertainment Tonight, “At one point during the dizzying saga, the actor is accosted by two fans at a grocery store who drastically overshare about how much his work means to them.”

Reeves compared this moment to Bomer and his near-car accident. "I think in the film when Reef goes to the supermarket… You can have those kinds of really enthusiastic interactions sometimes. You're doing your thing in the day, and then someone is sharing their enthusiasm."

Diaz added, "Fame is a spectrum. Everybody experiences it on different levels, and there's no handbook to it, so you don't know how to necessarily go forward within it, but you make your way. And then you're in it, and once you're in it, there's really no going back."

Outcome will be available on Apple TV+ on April 10.
