The Best Things to Do on the Internet This Weekend

Here's the funny thing about the Internet: No matter how much time you actually spend online, you will never see and experience everything the Internet has to offer. The sheer magnitude of videos, websites, games, photos, social media sites and zany GIFs is far too much for one person to find on their own. So we decided to compile a handy list. Here are the best things to do on the Internet this weekend, February 15 - 16.

As you've probably heard all across the Internet, Kanye West's debut LP, The College Dropout turned 10 years old this week, which—considering how much Kanye has changed the game in that decade—is pretty incredible. To commemorate the event, Complex has been rolling out all sorts of special features this week, including an exclusive, unreleased interview that editor-in-chief Noah Callahan-Bever conducted with Kanye all the way back in 2002. Much controversy has been swirling around former Missouri defensive end Michael Sam who, amidst his preparations for the 2014 NFL Draft, announced this past weekend that he is gay. Should Sam be drafted and make the opening-day roster for the 2014-15 NFL season (which is likely), he will be the first openly gay athlete to have played on a major professional sports team in the United States. Of course, with this landmark announcement, ignorance and criticism have followed, the gist of it being that the NFL simply isn't ready for an athlete like this. Thankfully, Sam hasn't been alone in defending himself, and Dallas news anchor Dale Hansen was one of his most ardent (and surprising) supporters this week when he took a moment during his newscast to express his frustrations with the current standards that the NFL has regarding its players. As you may have heard, Drake is "done doing interviews for magazines," a proclamation that was spurred by his recent interview with Rolling Stone, in which Drake felt like his quotes were taken out of context and misrepresentative of who he is. However, that doesn't mean that it still doesn't make for a good read, especially when you find out that Drake, "had a sign outside [of his house] that said the yolo estate, but it got stolen three times," or that he's "obsessed" with residential pools and that, "one of [Drake's] goals in life is to have the biggest residential pool on the planet." The NBA All-Star Game is this weekend, and with all the fanfare that accompanies this spectacle comes perhaps the greatest moment of the entire weekend: the Slam Dunk Contest. The field is stacked this year, which means that the competition is sure to result in some jaw-dropping shows of athleticism and creativity. If you happen to be a connoisseur of these competitions, though, then you're in luck, because Sole Collector has put together a comprehensive collection of all of the sneakers that the past Slam Dunk champions wore during their win. It can't be easy being the lesser heralded brother of a hip-hop superstar, can it? Especially when you're trying to start up your own career in the exact same genre. However, Casino—the brother of Atlanta's star rapper/crooner, Future—is trying his best not to be overshadowed by his sibling's successes. We heard him on the recently released hit, "Move That Dope," when he ripped the track open with his borderline-insane swagger, but he's now dropped a full mixtape for us to feast on called Frank Matthews. Anyone who has ever been inspired by Jack Kerouac's legendary travel tale, On The Road, has likely conspired to go on a road trip of their own at some point. But what about going on the exact same trip that Kerouac himself embarked on? With the help of a German student by the name of Gregor Weichbrodt, you now may be able to do just that. According to Open Culture, Weichbrodt, "took all of the geographic stops mentioned in On the Road, plugged them into Google Maps, and ended up with a 45-page manual of driving directions, divided into chapters paralleling those of Kerouac's original book. You can read the manual—On the Road for 17,527 Miles—as a free ebook." Sure, the novel may not be exactly true to Kerouac's actual trip, but Weichbrodt's adaptation is useful inspiration for anyone getting that itch to go out on a trip. Use this Sochi/Star Wars GIF in Every Possible Setting

With the Winter Olympics in full swing, it's time to start compiling all the greatest GIFs, videos and moments from Sochi. First in line is this GIF, inspired by a particularly notable crash from a Finnish skiier making their way down Sochi's treacherous downhill skiing course. So, obviously, this was an appropriate time to use footage of the AT-AT Walkers from Star Wars' The Empire Strikes Back. The result is pure genius.

If you know anything about the Russian figure skater, Evgeni Plushenko, then you know that he isn't afraid to get a little flamboyant with his work. A many-time medalist for Russia over four different Olympic Games, the heralded winter athlete has set a standard for figure skating that will be difficult to match. Now, as he bows out of his competitive career, someone took it upon themselves to mash up a ridiculous exhibition program by Plushenko with an even more ridiculous song: Ginuwine's 1996 smash-hit, "Pony." And it's awesome. Considering that the actual track that Plushenko is skating to here is Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb," this parody really isn't all that far off either.
