Quentin Tarantino is once again discussing what he would do in Kill Bill Volume 3 in the event that it ever becomes a real thing. In this newest edition he expressed his enthusiasm for uniting two generations of the same acting family on the big screen.

Commence hypothetical casting.

Specifically, Tarantino said it would be “fucking exciting” if Uma Thurman returned in the Beatrix Kiddo role along with actual daughter Maya Hawke playing the Bride’s grown-up child.

“I think it’s just revisiting the characters 20 years later and just imagining the Bride and her daughter, Bebe, having 20 years of peace, and then that peace is shattered,” the director said while on the Joe Rogan Experience. “And now the Bride and Bebe are on the run and just the idea of being able to cast Uma and cast her daughter Maya in the thing would be fucking exciting.”

Hawke worked with Tarantino in 2019’s Once Upon a Time…in HollywoodShe also landed a main role on Stranger Things in Season 3; the next season is currently in production.

All the way back in 2004, the year the second Kill Bill released, Tarantino shared with Entertainment Weekly an idea of what we could see in Vol. 3. The idea involved the daughter of Vernita Green, Vivica A. Fox’s character who tried to segue from being part of an assassination squad to living a normal life as a homemaker, seeking her own revenge. *Real old spoilers* The Bride kills Green, her daughter sees the end result, and Beatrix tells the young girl she can come find her if she grows up and still feels “raw about it.” Here’s the scene.

“The star will be Vernita Green’s daughter, Nikki,” said Tarantino in ’04. “I’ve already got the whole mythology: Sofie Fatale [Julie Dreyfus] will get all of Bill’s money. She’ll raise Nikki, who’ll take on the Bride. Nikki deserves her revenge every bit as much as the Bride deserved hers.”

As QT reiterated days ago, he still plans to retire after his next movie.
