According to Quartz, the price of Starbuckscoffee will go up this summer for the third year in a row. Not all stores will see exactly the same increase in price, but coffee lovers can expected to pay between $0.05 and $0.20 more per cup of coffee in most stores.
Don't freak out just yet though—this shouldn't be a huge cause for concern, though. Starbucks estimates that fewer than 20% of customers' bills will change, and the orders that are affected will only go up 1% in price.
It's also worth noting that iced coffee and frappuccinos are exempt from the hike (good news for your inner teen). However, the Tall and Venti sizes of brewed coffee will go up $0.10 (bad news for your Monday mornings).
The price increase is happening even though the the price of Arabica coffee beans has gone down since last year. Starbucks, though, says that the decision isn't the result of one single thing, but many different factors. Quartz ventures a guess as to what that actually means: "[It] isn't just coffee prices, but also increase in other costs, notably rent, labor, and other operating expenses."
The change in price goes into effect tomorrow, July 7.
