Welp, early reviews of the new Fantastic Four movie are in, and they are not looking good. The reboot of the superhero franchise currently has 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been called "a tragic chore," "lifeless", and "fantastic only in its commitment to mediocrity."

The problem seems to be that Josh Trank's Fantastic Four feels nothing like a superhero movie, at least not one that Marvel would ever put its name on. But Trank, who wrote the screenplay and directed the movie, might be more disappointed with how the movie turned out than anyone. The director posted this depressing tweet earlier today, before taking it down shortly after.

Is Trank right—was his vision for the movie so much better than its underwhelming execution? We'll never know—but that's reality, though.
