When it comes to summer activities, the warm weather always brings out the best in us. From the stage to the arena, American Idol Live! returns this summer for a 40-show tour to showcase the season’s top finalists. Once the Miami Heat are done for the summer, head back to AmericanAirlines Arena (August 2) and see some new performances from your old favorites.

Famous for their Cuban Sandwich, Versailles Restaurant has been serving up meals for over 40 years in the heart of Little Havana. Touted as the “World’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant,” it has become the first stop for local politicians seeking exile Cuban support.

Joe’s Stone Crab

A Miami institution, Joe’s Stone Crab first opened in 1913 and has been packed ever since. The originator of the Miami Beach power lunch, you’ll feel better after you’ve eaten. Also, make sure you save some time to take in all the old photos on the walls.

The Dutch

Miami was chosen for the second location of this SoHo hotspot, and the community has fallen in love. If you can only order one thing, make it the little oyster sandwiches or one of their daily fresh pies.

Ultimate Pool Party

As part of the Fontainebleau’s BleauLive concert series, the Ultimate Pool Party (June 28-29) will feature live performances by Pitbull, Ke$ha, AfroJack, Icona Pop and Krewella. Remember when just the idea of an all-day pool party was enough to get you out of the house?

Right before Independence Day, the folks of Brickell are throwing a party. The 2nd annual Burger, Beer & BBQ Bash (June 29) features over 25 local restaurants serving their best.

Located in the Aventura Mall and helmed by LeBron James, UNKNWN features a sneaker wall that connects each shoe with an accompanying iPad showing you how to style them. Need we say anything else?

Treasure hunting isn’t just reserved for the beach. The Lincoln Road Outdoor Antique & Collectible Market is the spot for those tracking down memorabilia and collectables. Stop through every other Sunday.

W South Beach

Located on the beach with renowned restaurants such as Mr. Chow and The Dutch on site, the W South Beach has convinced many visitors to become residents. Choose between ocean views or city vistas depending on which side you’re on, and rooftop tennis or basketball depending on what sport you want to play. Hanging in the pool is just fine as well.

Mondrian South Beach

Offering amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami, you’d find it hard to believe that the Mondrian South Beach was once a 16-story apartment building. Just something you can discuss with your friends as you ride jet skis in the bay.
