Following in the footsteps of Better Call Saul, the upcoming Walking Dead prequel has already received a two-season order from AMC. The wager to preemptively greenlight Saul for two seasons paid off in dividends for the network, and they're looking to duplicate that success with a Dead companion series.
The spinoff is currently untitled and slated for a summer premiere. Deadlinereports that its first season will be set in Los Angeles and have only six episodes. A full-length season is tentatively scheduled for 2016. Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey are set to star.
Please let there not be a Mad Men prequel coming down the pipe. That would be way too many stiffs for one network.
