The wonderful folks at Nintendo finally let the cat out of the bag on this one. It looks like the sequel to Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a real thing and it’s gracing the Wii U and 3DS. Nintendo, Project Sora, and Namco Bandai will combine their gaming knowledge and help craft this classic in the making.
What are we going to do to help these development teams out? Hmmm WE GOT IT! Here’s a look at 25 new roster additions we want to see for Super Smash Bros 4. Since we now know Namco Bandai’s on board, it’s time for their icons to join the fray.
Chibi-Robo!
Chibi-Robo!
his little housekeeping tyke has done too much work indoors. It’s about damn time Chibi-Robo got to clean up the battlefield and get rid of his opponents.
Dig-Dug
Dig-Dug
One of Namco’s most memorable arcade heroes should put that inflatable weapon to other uses. Those new uses include blowing up Mario to oversized proportions.
Birdo
Super Mario Bros. 2
Yoshi’s (we think female) animal buddy has sat in the background far too long. Birdo can shoot a few eggs at dangerous speeds and guarantee the win.
Paper Mario
Paper Mario
We picked the paper version of Mario just because we’d like to see how his appearance can be translated to 3D. We imagine he’d sport the same look Mr. Game & Watch had, just with more color.
Krystal
Star Fox Adventures
The prettiest fox from the Star Fox series definitely knows how her way around a battle staff. Her moveset would certainly involve quick strikes and tons of fast maneuvers.
Neku Sakurab
The World Ends With You
Square Enix introduced us to this cool dude when they released their exclusive DS RPG. Neku should be the main guest character of the house that Final Fantasy built, we say.
Ray MK III
Custom Robo
As a trophy, this robot was a whole heap of trouble if you were in its sights. Now this fast moving machine should become a fully playable character, missiles and jetpacks included.
Matthew
Golden Sun
The Golden Sun series hasn’t had much representation in this Nintendo battle royal. Matthew, the main protagonist of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn should be the one who changes all that. Hope he brings some Djinn with him.
Ghirahim
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
This flamboyant sword master gave Link a whole lot of problems in his latest adventure. It would be pretty awesome to see him give the rest of the Smash Bros. cast some trouble with his quick magic tricks, too.
Magnus
Kid Icarus: Uprising
That badass dude with the long hair and super huge sword from Kid Icarus: Uprising would look at home in a fighting game. And this is the one fighting game he’d find refuge in.
Lloyd Irving
Tales of Symphonia
Mr. Irving here graced the Gamecube release of Tales of Symphonia. We grew to like the guy, due to his swagged out red gear and mastery of a bunch of swords. If there’s one Tales of... series guy we wanna go in with, it’s Lloyd.
Klonoa
Klonoa
Namco Bandai’s dream traveling, ring wearing ”thing” is a great mascot for the company. Why not let him get involved in the fray and use that ring of his to whup some ass?
Kazuya Mishima
Tekken
If the Tekken series gets to add just one of it’s own to the next Super Smash Bros., then we nominate Kazuya for that honor. His finishing move? He transforms into his devil form and lays waste to everyone with laser beams.
Waluigi
Mario Tennis
As an Assist Trophy, this evil version of Luigi did his job well. Let’s make him an official member of the roster next time so he can outright torture dudes with that tennis racket.
Knuckles the Echidna
Sonic the Hedgehog
Thankfully, we got Sonic in the last game. Do we get to choose another character from the blue hedgehog’s crew? If so, then this punch happy Echidna deserves to get in.
Nightmare
SoulCalibur
Aw man, Nightmare would make our friends accuse us of cheating if he was selectable. That mammoth version of Soul Edge he wields would slow him down, but it would also make him extremely powerful.
Simon Belmont
Castlevania
When we think NES, we think Castlevania. The first hero of the Belmont clan to hunt down Dracula back in the old days was our dude right here. Simon, crack that whip!
Ridley
Metroid
Ridley scared us half to death as a boss in the last game. If Nintendo managed to shrink this creature down to an appropriate size and gave it a fitting moveset, we think the guy would fit right in.
Little Mac
Punch Out!!
This addition makes way too much sense. All his boxing training could really be put to the test if he entered the Smash Bros. tournament. If he can handle Mike Tyson, he can handle anyone.
Cyborg Ninja
Metal Gear Solid
Hideo Kojima gave us Solid Snake in Brawl and we’ve never been the same since. The Metal Gear Solid series has plenty of other characters to choose from, but we think the Cyborg Ninja would be the perfect selection.
Geno
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Fans voted in droves for this magical wooden doll to be in the last game. Geno can dish out beams, boosts, flashes, whirls, and blasts. We think he can hold it down for himself.
Pac Man
Pac Man
C’mon Namco, let us K.O. some folks with Pac-Man! It would make sense to give him the arms and legs he sported in his adventure games. Once a Power Pellet lands on the battlefield, just imagine what this guy could do.
Mega Man
Mega Man
Another famous franchise that defined the NES back in the day was the Mega Man series. The blue bomber hasn’t been paid much attention as of late and fans have spoken out against his treatment. Capcom, throw us a bone here!
Bowser Jr.
Super Mario Sunshine
This little guy was one of the main foils for Mario in Super Mario Sunshine. Even though he was our enemy, we loved him anyway. He’d do some dangerous things with that Magic Paintbrush, son.
King K. Rool
Donkey Kong Country
Now why hasn’t this boss of all bosses been added to this series yet? After witnessing his boxing prowess in Donkey Kong 64, we know King K. Rool would be the perfect guy to show up in Super Smash Bros 4.
