Ed Boon is doing the DC Comics label justice, ain’t he? The latest fighting game from the guys who brought us that perfect Mortal Kombat reboot are in the middle of crafting their epic DC fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. The gameplay we’ve seen so far looks amazing and those “Who Would Win in a Fight?” scenarios will finally get played out in the DC Universe.
The recent reveals of Nightwing and Cyborg got us thinking about who’d we want to see make the official roster for the game. We came up with a list of 25 awesome heroes and villains who should be playable in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
25 Additional DC Characters That Should Be In "Injustice"

The latest fighting game from the guys who brought us that perfect Mortal Kombat reboot are in the middle of crafting their epic DC fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. The gameplay we’ve seen so far looks amazing and those “Who Would Win in a Fight?” scenarios will finally get played out in the DC Universe.
The recent reveals of Nightwing and Cyborg got us thinking about who’d we want to see make the official roster for the game. We came up with a list of 25 awesome heroes and villains who should be playable in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
25. Firestorm
What you know ‘bout Firestrom? This DC superhero may not be as well known as his counterparts, but he’s definitely got a nice host of superpowers that make him stand out. Firestrom uses his nuclear powers to transmute the elements available to him. He can also blast fools with his fusion energy blasts and makes good use of his superhuman strength. Firestrom is made up of more than one person, by the way.
24. Shazam aka Captain Marvel
SHAZAM! We took a liking to ol’ Captain Marvel here when he was playable in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The big guy knows how to make his mastery of lightning attacks count on the battlefield. Shazam also possesses the type of superhuman strength and knowledge that could put down anyone that stands in his way.
23. Black Adam
And now we introduce you to one of Shazam’s greatest adversaries, Black Adam. Black Adam has the same powers as Shazam, but times them by 10. With the Power of the Goddess Isis, his abilities get a substantial boost and his ass kicking ways become even more enhanced. Respect this OG.
22. Hawkman
That Nth Metal transforms mortal men into the strongest dudes walking on Earth. Hawkman here uses this accessory to help him take to the skies. He puts other heroes and villains to bed with his large armory, consisting of maces, spears, and shields. Oh and he can materialize his costume and said weapons through his body. How boss is that?
21. Raven
Raven is one unstable chick. Unstable characters make for great characters in fighting games, we say. She’s able to manipulate the darkness through her telekinesis/psychokinesis powers. What does this mean? Once she sprinkles a little bit of her spirit energy into possessed objects, she has the power to control those objects and magnify its strength. If she’s given the ability to stop time in the game, just imagine what type of damage she could do.
20. Black Canary
Once we got a taste of this lady’s powers from the old Justice League Unlimited cartoon, we instantly fell in love. Black Canary is an expert when it comes to martial arts, which would make her a fine addition to this fighting game’s roster. We see Miss Canary adopting some of Sindel’s moves from Mortal Kombat, since the Canary Cry is quite similar to Sindel’s scream attacks.
19. Starfire
We love us some Teen Titans! Starfire is another one of those team members from that famous young superhero squad. This space age super heroine hails from the planet Tamaran and is able to harness the power of ultraviolet radiation. Once she makes her way to the sky, she’s bound to leave a meteor sized crater in her wake once she lets off a few starbolts.
18. Martian Manhunter
First reason for his inclusion in the game: He looks cool as all hell.
Second reason: Superman once said that "he is the most powerful being on the face of the Earth." Whoa. Martian Manhunter can go ham on his fellow heroes and despised villains with the powers of super strength, flight, vortex breath, and “Martian Vision.” Don’t be in his direction when he hands out a nice energy beam from his eyes.
17. Darkseid
Superman will have a lot of drama on his hands if this New God enters the arena. Darkseid could play the part of this game’s final boss (or sub-boss, if the developers are planning for someone more epic). He can blast fools into next year with his Omega Beam and also has some of the same powers as his adversary. His fighting stance should just be him with his arms crossed behind his back. All energy beams, no fisticuffs.
16. Beast Boy
Beast Boy has the type of skillset that lends itself well to a fighting game. He can transform into some of the most powerful and intimidating animals known to man. Picture this: he pulls of a combo where he uppercuts his foe into the air, runs through them after changing into a bull, and finishes them off by slamming them into the ground after transforming into a gorilla. Beast Boy’s set of moves would be incredible to witness.
15. Aquaman
Aquaman is not useless. Let’s get that out of the way right now. Since he’s going to be fighting on land, we figure he should sport that water suit Batman hooked him up with in the past. He’s just as strong as his Justice League counterparts, plus he has control over the creatures of the sea. Let him come into battle with a battle spear, give him some cool water specials, and we’re sure Aquaman could fend for himself quite well.
14. Bane
Yeah, the guy that broke The Dark Knight’s back and put him out of commission. This guy. Bane is getting the lead villain role in this summer’s Batman flick, so we think it makes sense to add him to this new DC battle royal. He’s all juiced up on Venom and capable of destroying anyone without breaking a sweat. You know his grab is gonna be a mean ass backbreaker.
13. Lex Luthor
Another one of Superman’s enemies would make for a great add-on to the Injustice roster. The version we want to play with is Luthor’s robot suit powered self from MK vs. DC Universe. Luthor’s gonna be shooting missiles all over the place and sticking his thruster boots in people’s faces with reckless abandon.
12. Deathstroke
DC’s resident assassin Deathstroke is one of the first guys anyone should think of when news of an all DC fighting game comes true. He has the strength of 10 men and his agility, stamina, and reflexes are Godlike. That sword and pistol combination of his will look real sweet in a game like this. Deathstroke vs. Batman? That’s the first match we’re gonna run, son.
11. The Joker
OF COURSE! The Joker is a trickster and a super unpredictable foe. It would be so cool seeing him take advantage of his guns, poison gas, and other tools of the murdering trade. Wait…we just had an awesome thought! What if, during his finishing move, he was able to change into the supersized Joker from Arkham Asylum? Nice.
10. Static Shock
Saturday morning cartoon heads should be real familiar with this brotha. Static Shock’s powers allow him to harness electricity and do whatever he feels like doing. If he wants to fly on top of a steel trash can lid and crash into his opponents, he can. If he feels like flinging balls of lighting at his foes, he can. The possibilities for Static Shock’s moves are endless.
9. Power Girl
Supergirl? Nah, she’s a bit of a goody two shoes compared to this edgier heroine. We prefer Power Girl, a super lady whose mad aggressive and full of spunk. Damn, that blonde bob hairstyle is sexy! Power Girl’s name says it all: she’s a beast that can do the same things Superman can do. Fear her.
8. Mr. Freeze
Mr. Freeze needs to live a little and stop moaning over his baby girl so much. If he got the chance to take out a few DC icons, maybe then he’d be able to crack a smile once in a while. Freeze sports that nice cold gun of his and that super durable cryogenic suit. If he became a part of this game, we think he’d play like a cross between Sub-Zero and Lex Luthor.
7. Green Lantern
The Hal Jordan version is the most iconic and the one we’re eager to see make the game the most. We already got a taste of his awesome ring powers from past fighting games, so we know what we’re gonna get here. Green Lantern has the ability to form weapons out of thin air due to the power of his ring and that means plenty of green hammers, machine guns, and force fields will come into play.
6. Green Arrow
So Green Arrow is getting prepped for his own TV series real soon, we hear. Wouldn’t it benefit the TV show by putting him into the game and making him familiar with the gaming community? Uh…yeah. Green Arrow is more than capable of handling himself against the best of the DC Universe. His pinpoint accuracy with arrows would be his main calling card, plus we know he can lay down a few punches and kicks when things get difficult.
5. Robin
Nightwing is now an official member of the roster. We’d like to propose the addition of another one of Batman’s sidekicks: the boy wonder, Robin. The Tim Drake version of this superhero is the one that appeared in Arkham City, so that’s the one that should enter this game. Robin is a lethal hand-to-hand fighting expert, plus he can embarrass anyone with his bo staff.
4. Sinestro
Green Lantern, prepare to be shook son. Sinestro is the living embodiment of evil. This dude’s facial features aren’t exactly welcoming. His yellow power ring harnesses the element of fear, which lets him construct a variety of weapons. Sinestro and Green Lantern would definitely be at odds. We’d set the computer on the hardest difficulty, pit those two against each other, and watch the fireworks fly.
3. Red Hood
Jason Todd’s alter ego would be a welcome addition alongside the rest of Batman’s rouges gallery. The Red Hood feeds on revenge, so we figure an encounter between him and The Joker would be dope. Our boy can handle any dangerous situation, due to his fighting skills and brutal nature. His fist game is ridiculous and a serious threat to anyone who crosses him.
2. Doomsday
He killed Superman. Let that marinate in your head for a second. *waits 5 minutes* Alright, we’re pretty sure you now know why Doomsday should be a part of this fighter. This rampaging murderer is a literal powerhouse that destroys everything in sight. The spikes protruding out of his chin, back, elbows, and kneecaps would make for an awesome set of projectile specials. Doomsday fits the mold of the default oversized guy in any fighting game.
1. Lobo
Our favorite anti-hero Lobo is our most requested roster entry for the game. This bad-ass has an armory that’s ready to be used on fools. Will he use the titanium alloy chain? Or will he go to his bag of explosives and gats? Should he just use his bare hands?
Answer: he’ll use everything. Lobo looks incredible and lord knows his playstyle would be incredible too. Ed Boon, please let us take control of this galaxy bounty hunter.
