It's finally here! The Vs. fighting game we didn’t even know we wanted is now feeding the appetite of Street Fighter and Tekken fans everywhere. Capcom’s fantasy battle royal of epic proportions, Street Fighter X Tekken, pits SF’s projectile throwing combatants against Tekken’s close range pugilists.

Now that we got that out of the way, it’s time for us to fantasize about the next Vs. installment from Capcom. There are a gazillion gaming companies and franchises out there that would make a perfect fit against Cap’s storied cast. It’s time to reach into our dream match raffle bowl and pull out the ten best ones we’d like to see.

Join us as we delve into our "Capcom Vs. Fighting Games Wishlist."

Capcom’s Lady Fighters vs. Arcana Heart

Lady brawlers seem to be all the rage these days. Skullgirls should be here any day now, Girl Fight looks promising and the Kunoichi of Dead or Alive 5 are returning.

Might as well get Capcom involved in these estrogen-charged fighting games. We imagine the company’s long list of female fighters, heroes and villains coming to blows with the cast of Arcana Heart. A 2D fighter that’s strictly one-on-one should do it for us.

Just think about these face-off’s: Sakura vs. Heart Aino, Chun-Li vs. Mei-Fang and Akira (Rival Schools) vs. Saki Tsuzura. It’s ladies night…too bad no one feels likes partying.

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike vs. Garou: Mark of the Wolves

If there’s one fighting game roster that’s insanely different from it’s past installments, it’s gotta be the roster of SF3: 3rd Strike. Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Akuma came along for the ride but everyone else was a fresh face (and super weirdo, for some.)

One of the most underrated fighting games of all time, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, fits into that same category of Cap’s fighting game sequel. Why not pit both games’ rosters against each other in a 2D, drag out street brawl?

Yun, Yang, Alex, Ibuki and Q could do battle against Rock Howard, Terry Bogard, Tizoc, Hokutomaru and Freeman for Capcom and SNK’s honor.

Onimusha vs. Soul Calibur

Swords are cool, right? So are bladed staffs, detachable whip chains and Wolverine claws. Chances are high that you’re an avid Soul Calibur fan if you enjoy cutting down a pirate or medieval pretty boy with said weapons.

What if the weapons wielding fighters from Namco’s long running series did battle with Capcom’s demon hunting samurai? It would probably be the bestest 3D fighting game EVAR! Mitsurugi and Co. would definitely put up a fight against Samonosuke Akechi and his crew of Japanese feudal warriors.

Nightmare vs. Bishamon Sword possessed Samonosuke, son? That would look incredible.

Darkstalkers vs. Guilty Gear

Now these two franchises have a serious cult following. Some like to get their Tyrant Rave on with Sol-Badguy while others mash their undead heads with Lord Raptor.

The most hardcore and super colorful fighting game of all time could become a reality if these two rosters got grouped together. We’d love to see Arc System Works handle the animation and development on this one. Fall back this time, Capcom.

All the horror movie archetypes and whatever the hell Faust is would look sweet doing battle against each other with Heavy Metal playing in the background. So who you got your money on: Morrigan Aensland or I-No?

Capcom vs. Sega

It’s about time we got to the best part of this countdown: BRAND RIVALRIES! Capcom is held in high regard for its excellent fighting games and classic NES games (DUCKTALES!) while Sega is the house that Sonic built.

We’d lose our collective minds if a video popped up online with Mega Man butting heads with Sonic the Hedgehog. AND IT BETTER BE REAL, TOO! Eff outta here with that, Mugen. A 3 on 3 2D fighter starring the best of Capcom and Sega’s iconic properties would rule all.

We imagine Trish (Devil May Cry), Strider and Jin (Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness) clashing with Bayonetta, Joe Musashi (Shinobi) and Sam Gideon (Vanquish). You’re welcome for the nerdy wet dreams, people.

Capcom vs. Namco

Ever heard of a game called Namco X Capcom? It’s a strategy RPG that featured several well known faces from both companies’ dusty roster archives. No, we’re being totally serious right now.

Now here comes the sad part about this game: Japanese gamers got it while we were forced to pay ridiculous import prices just to get a peek. Capcom and Namco should make it up to us American fans by crafting a full-fledged fighting game with all the characters from their previous game, A few extra faces wouldn’t’ hurt, either.

The possibility of seeing Ryu, Guy, Arthur (Ghosts ‘n Goblins) and Bruce McGivern (Resident Evil: Dead Aim) battling on a 2D plane with Jin Kazama, Klonoa, KOS-MOS (Xenosaga) and Sabine (The Legend of Valkyrie) sounds amazing.

Capcom vs. Nintendo

Super Smash Bros. is a late-night staple for gamers looking to enjoy its madness with friends. Jumping into a game where you can dole out severe beatings to Nintendo’s icons is the definition of fun.

Now, we’d like to see the above format adopted for a rendition of Capcom vs. Nintendo. Keep the big N’s entire roster and add in Capcom staples such as Mega Man, Ryu, Dante, and Falcon (Power Stone). Include battle items such as Mega Man’s energy canisters, Power Stones, assists from other Capcom characters and a Bionic Commando arm.

And the stages? Oh, the possibilities. Ryu’s rooftop stage from Street Fighter, one of Dr. Wily’s many fortresses of doom and a snow covered stage from Lost Planet all sound appetizing to us.

Capcom vs. DC Universe

Aiiight Marvel, we’ve seen enough of your guys butting heads with Capcom. Wolverine and Ryu’s eternal battle for supremacy is gonna have to take a backseat to this next crossover we’d love to see.

The DC Universe superhero/super villain archives are full of characters that can hold themselves down in a fight. But can they fend themselves off from karate masters, demon hunters and an abominable snowman? We think so, so let’s see it happen with Capcom vs. DC Universe.

A 3-on-3 fighter with the same graphics engine as Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 would do wonders for us. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman would have their hands full battling with M. Bison, Wesker, Captain Commando and Morrigan.

Capcom vs. SNK 3

The fighting game community has made their voices heard for years about another installment in the Capcom vs. SNK series. Now seems like the perfect time for both companies to fulfill their wish.

Both game companies have added on a bunch of new faces to its respective roster of fighting game franchises. We’d imagine ourselves having a grand ol’ time pitting C. Viper, Abel, Batsu (Rival Schools) and Haggar (Final Fight) against the cast of King of Fighters and beyond.

Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Raiden and that she-man Ash Crimson better get their groove systems ready. This. Means. War.

Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat

Oh yeah, we just took it there. The ultimate fighting game rivalry. The epic classroom debates over which game is better. The conjured image of watching Kano pull out Ken’s bleeding heart.

This game may never happen in our lifetime, but for some reason we can’t stop dreaming about it. Capcom’s street brawlers oozing ounces of blood would blow people’s minds. So would seeing Scorpion and Lui-Kang getting raped with Haduken’s and Tiger Knee’s.

We’d be fine with this game being developed in the same manner as the rebooted Mortal Kombat. It would warm our hearts to see Ryu Dragon Punch Shang Tsung’s head off of his body. Flawless…Victory.
