Sophie Rain fired back at Lil Tay this week, rejecting the influencer’s $60 million boxing challenge and labeling the public spat as an unnecessary bid for attention.

The exchange began after Lil Tay, 18, posted a video on Instagram claiming she would pay Rain to face her in the ring.

“Sophie Rain, $60 million is what I have for you to fight me in a boxing match. You're about that money, right?” Tay said.

Rain, 20, responded with a series of TikTok posts that appeared to undermine Tay’s accusations.

In one clip, Rain reclined on a couch with the caption, “me coming out of retirement after hearing someone is claiming to make more than me.”

In another, she stood in her living room, writing, “why is some child I was a fan of trying to beef w me for clout…”

Without naming Tay directly, Rain suggested the situation was an example of an online rivalry manufactured for views.

“It’s giving unnecessary energy,” she said in comments to fans. “I’m not entertaining something that’s just for clout.”

Tay’s remarks stemmed from a recent Bop House TikTok that jokingly suggested she had auditioned for the creator collective.

In her response, Tay denied auditioning and insulted the group.

“Why would I do that when I've already made more than all of y'all combined?” she said.

“Y'all are expired, washed up, pushing 50… I don't even know these girls, but they name dropping me.”

Rain, a founder of the Bop House and a Christian content creator, has avoided directly escalating the dispute.

She appeared to frame the conflict as an unwelcome distraction from her work and personal values.

“Some things just aren’t worth the energy,” she commented on one fan’s post.

The back-and-forth drew thousands of reactions online.

Under one of Rain’s videos, Lil Tay replied with an emoji covering its mouth, while another comment from Tay read, “Grandma been watching me since day 1 and still can’t keep up,” a remark interpreted by many as a jab at Rain’s age, despite Rain being only two years older.

In a statement to Complex, Rain said, "Lil Tay who? This kind of attention is career-ending, not for me, for her. She's stuck in 2018, newsflash, it's 2025."

“I’m focused on my work,” Rain wrote in a follow-up post, “not internet theatrics.”
