Camilla Araujo played a pivotal role in one of the most dramatic moments of YouTuber MrBeast’s high-profile charity stream, when she handed over Sophie Rain’s number live on camera, a move that directly led to Rain pledging $1 million to the cause.

The event, co-hosted with Adin Ross and xQc, was staged as part of the Team Water campaign, an initiative promising one year of clean drinking water for every dollar raised. The stream’s ambitious goal: $5 million.

Midway through the broadcast, MrBeast openly asked Araujo if she had Sophie Rain’s contact information.

“MrBeast called her on stream and asked if I had Sophie Rain’s number,” Araujo said on social media.

Without hesitation, Araujo passed it along. “I gave it to him and he called Sophie.”

According to fans, MrBeast called Rain back just five minutes after Araujo’s own donation, this time following Camilla’s lead.

“He called her back after Camilla’s donation. Like 5 mins later,” the comments noted. What happened next sealed the night’s biggest headline: Sophie Rain pledged $1 million on the spot.

The donation dwarfed earlier contributions and immediately lit up social feeds. Fans credited Araujo with setting the moment in motion.

“Camilla basically set up the biggest donation of the night,” one viewer posted, while another added, “Without her, that call to Sophie doesn’t even happen.”

MrBeast had explained the tactic earlier in the night, telling donors: “We’re doing this live stream where we can’t get off stream till we raise $5 million for Team Water. Every dollar is one year of clean water for someone in need.”

“Tbh calling persons on stream is like forcing them to make a donation because they know if they don’t, they’ll get hate,” one commenter wrote.

Others pushed back, pointing out the results. “At least she donated. You guys just hate on everything nowadays,” another replied.

But when Rain’s million-dollar pledge came through, the focus shifted. Many called it “game-changing” and credited Araujo for making the introduction possible.

“Sometimes the biggest impact isn’t writing the check, it’s connecting the dots,” one fan wrote. “Camilla handed him Sophie’s number, and the rest is history.”
