An argument on Facebook took a bad turn when two friends ordered to have their friend killed. For 1,000 Euros a 15-year-old Dutch boy carried out the deed, killing a complete stranger over Facebook posts. The boy was sentenced to just one year in a juvenile detention for the murder.
Any sane person would agree that the one year sentence was not sufficient for the nature of the crime. But according to the law books of the Netherlands that was all he could receive. This is not the first time social media and violence have been mixed. Do you think social media is a major factor in regards to acts of violence?
