It appears Darren Aronofsky has a real fetish for human suffering.
After flooding the earth in Noah, the director has taken up a new project with some familiar themes. He is in talks with HBO to develop the series MaddAddam, based on the book trilogy by Margaret Atwood.
This would be the first project for Aronofsky with HBO, although it won’t be the last; in January, he signed a three year “first look” deal with New Regency/HBO to develop TV and movie projects for them. Maybe somewhere along the way he'll decide to do something a little more cheerful?
