Day 4 of Pope “Sleepy” Francis’ exhausting U.S. tour tomorrow is going to make rush hour traffic in New York City exponentially worse. If you can, skip the traffic, the extra security, and stay home with your sanity intact, but if you have no choice, Blade is here to help cut through (ha!) traffic jams.
Blade, the Uber of helicopters, is offering trips tomorrow during morning rush hour, 7:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and evening rush hour, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., between its E. 34th Street and W. 30th Street bases for a cool $95. Blade estimates the trip will take anywhere from 5 to 8 whole minutes—way less than the wait time at Starbucks in the morning.
In an email sent to users Blade wrote, “Due to popular demand by our users, on Friday, September 25th, BLADE will be offering flights between the West Side and the East Side of Manhattan during morning and evening rush hour time periods—when traffic will be most impacted by the concurrent visits of the Pope, POTUS, and UN delegates.”
The only thing more jam packed than traffic tomorrow will be the Pope’s schedule as he will make trips to the United Nations, the 9/11 Museum, and East Harlem, before leading a procession through Central Park and holding a mass in Madison Square Garden.
