Quentin Tarantino has already announced plans to retire after his tenth film, but at the Adobe Max conference Thursday he confirmed his decision in case anyone didn’t believe him.
Tarantino first brought up retirement in November 2014 before The Hateful Eight, his eighth film, was released. Discussing the end of his directing career at the conference on Thursday, he confirmed he had only two films left before would "Drop the mic. Boom. Tell everybody, 'Match that shit.'"
Asked at the conference about how he defines, success Tarantino responded, "Hopefully, the way I define success when I finish my career is that I'm considered one of the greatest filmmakers that ever lived. And going further, a great artist, not just filmmaker."
For those ravenous to know what the Pulp Fiction director is up to, he said he's been studying the year 1970 for the last four years for a nonfiction historical project that could become a book, documentary, or podcast.
Early this year Tarantino spoke about a film idea he had for a Bonnie and Clyde-type story about outlaws in 1930s Australia. But maybe one of Tarantino's last films will instead be the Deadpool sequel.
