In Lamar Odom’s Sex, Drugs & Kardashians, which premiered earlier this week on FOX, he speaks about how his past drug abuse led to the end of his marriage to Khloé Kardashian. In the documentary, the former NBA player expressed embarrassment over how he treated her during their four-year union.
“I mean behind the scenes, I put her through some s–t. Like s–t that y’all don’t know…The stories that y’all don’t know is, like, really crazy,” Odom said at one point during the doc. “I’m having full-blown relationships on the road. My wife is Khloé Kardashian, I’m bugging. I’m laughing out of embarrassment right now—how [did I think I] was going to get out of that one?”
As Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans might recall, Kardashian and Odom tied the knot in September 2009, after only a month of dating. The ceremony was documented on the famous family’s E! reality show. Fans were so invested in their love story that the former couple got their own spinoff show, Khloe & Lamar. However, their fairytale came to an end when the reality star filed for dissolution of marriage in December 2013, citing infidelity.
The FOX special isn’t the first time that Odom has spoken publicly about his ex-wife—after their divorce was finalized in December 2016, the former couple have had a few things to say about each other throughout the years. In many cases, he has expressed regret about his behavior, wishing her the best and even shooting his shot underneath a steamy photo she posted on IG. For the reality star’s part, she’s confessed to missing Odom and even contemplated meeting up with him on an episode of her show.

Lamar says Khloé contacted him
When: May 2019
While appearing on The Jenny McCarthy Show on May 29, 2019, the former NBA player said he heard from his ex-wife. Odom explained that Kardashian reached out in regards to a story about her in his tell-all memoir, Darkness to Light. “She talked about one of the stories that I told in the book about her coming to the hotel and putting her hands on a girl. She said that she didn’t even think that I remembered that story,” he said. Odom added that their exchange was “friendly.”
Khloé admits to missing Lamar
When: October 2019
During an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloé sat down with sisters Kim and Kourtney and revealed that she was considering meeting up with her ex-husband. "I, like, miss him, all the time," she said at the time. "But not in a place that I want to get back with him."
Kardashian then revealed that she had recently spoken with Odom on the phone and was happy about how the call went. "I just knew we were all going to talk again at some point. I'm just so happy." Speaking about Odom’s response during the phone call, she said, "He was like, 'I would love to see you. I've been dying to see you in person, I just feel like we have so much to talk about.'”
Lamar: “My Show With My Ex Wife”
When: March 2021
Odom uploaded a video of himself watching an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians to Instagram. The episode in question was none other than his wedding to Khloé. “It’s crazy [how] time flies,” he said in the clip, before thanking his ex and her family for the opportunity to appear on reality television. “I get a little bit emotional watching it.”
He also thanked the Kardashian-Jenner clan in the lengthy caption.
“My show with my ex-wife ❤️ I want to thank @krisjenner @khloekardashian @kimkardashian @robkardashianofficial @kourtneykardash for taking me in and loving me without judgment,” Odom captioned the Instagram video. “Y’all gave me family and for that I am forever grateful 🙏🏾❤️ Thanks @eentertainment for the marathon.”
Lamar leaves a flirty comment on Khloé’s steamy IG pic
When: July 2021
After Kardashian posted a photo of herself in a bikini, Odom couldn’t help but share how he felt about it, leaving a flirty comment underneath the image. “Hottie 🔥🔥😍😍❤️🥰🥰,” he wrote at the time. Tristan Thompson, who shares two children with Kardashian, responded to Odom with a not-so-subtle threat since he was dating her at the time. “God brought you back the first time,” he wrote, referring to Odom’s near-death experience in 2015. “Play if you want different results.”
Lamar sings Khloé’s praises on 'Celebrity Big Brother'
When: February 2022
Odom expressed regret over how his marriage to Kardashian ended during his time on Celebrity Big Brother. "I never thought about getting married again,” he said during a February 2022 episode. “I didn’t treat that good woman right. I wish I was mature enough to handle [marriage] right, but I wasn't. If given the opportunity again, now I know what to do. What to do and what not to do. Sometimes it's hard for me to sleep at night thinking about her."
After he was evicted from the competition, Odom reflected on the vulnerable moment in a statement to Us Weekly. The former NBA star said he didn’t regret wearing his heart on his sleeve. "When you marry someone in 30 days, they'll always be connected to you somehow, someway. [Khloé will] always have a place in my heart," he said. "When I came out of the coma, she took care of me. I'm talking about a woman that wiped my backside when I couldn't do it myself. So, I'm fond of her for that. She had a lot of dignity and pride as well as I did."
Lamar slights Khloé, compares her to Taraji P. Henson

Odom made a dig at Kardashian when he compared her to actress Taraji P. Henson, whom he dated in 2009. While speaking with Page Six, he said Henson was more “skillful” than the Good American CEO. “I think the difference between Taraji and Khloé is how they [were] brought up," he told the outlet. "Their upbringing, which makes people different and [affects] the way they think. I think Taraji is more skillful in what she does as an actress compared to what Khloé does."
Lamar says he’s embarrassed about cheating on Khloé

In his documentary Love, Sex, & Kardashians, Odom opened up once again about his infidelity to Khloé and expressed embarrassment over how poorly he treated her during their marriage. Odom detailed Kardashian’s lengths to protect him, and his past drug addiction: “Drugs — that was my girlfriend. I had a wife and cocaine,” he explained. “For part of my marriage, I had to tell [Khloé]. You can’t hide that forever. She was hurt, but Khloé was a good wife. She wasn’t dismissive or ‘Get away from me,’ she was protective and wanted to protect me even more.”
After saying that he “put [Khloé] through some s–t,” Odom recalled the relationships he had with other women under the influence. There was a time when another woman called Khloé, asking her to pick up Odom, who was allegedly in bad shape.
