Sophie Rain is pulling ahead as the fan favorite in a heated OnlyFans showdown, following public criticism of rival creator Bonnie Blue’s controversial antics.

Rain, a 20-year-old American known for her “authentic” girl-next-door image, has openly blasted 26-year-old British creator Blue, accusing her of turning the adult platform into what she called a “clown show.”

“It’s no longer women empowerment. It’s shock value, and she’s making a joke out of all of us,” Rain said in a recent statement. “We built this space to take control of our bodies and make money on our terms, not to fake pregnancies, marriages, and throw cake at people in public.”

She continued: “Brands don’t take us seriously anymore. Media doesn’t take us seriously. I’m tired of having to explain that not all of us are doing circus acts for clicks.”

Blue, who recently staged a mock wedding with a fan and a livestreamed fake arrest, has drawn both massive attention and heavy criticism. In June, the platform permanently banned her from OnlyFans after she allegedly violated its policies with a series of what it called “extreme challenges.”

Blue defended her ban, telling The Tab, "The warning was for a dogging tour, which I never spoke about. But the press thought it was me. And I said to OnlyFans, ‘Hey, here’s all the evidence’. And they still dismissed it and gave me the formal warning for it. I was like, ‘I don’t even know what to say. I was like, ‘You’re an £8 billion [~$10.3 billion] company, and I’m getting a formal warning for something I haven’t done.'”

Still, the controversy appears to be taking a toll on public perception. A recent TMZ poll showed Rain holding a lead, with 86% of more than 9,000 votes in her favor, compared with 14% for Blue.

The subscription-based platform surged in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering adult content creators a way to monetize their work directly with fans.

“There are thousands of women making real money and supporting themselves through this,” Rain said. “We can’t let a few headlines erase that.”

For now, Rain remains at the top.
