Look! Up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane! No, it's Michael Shannon in a Zod-damned motion capture suit. A snapshot of the actor wrapped in motion-capture sensors leaked onto the Internets from the Plano, Illinois set of the Zack Snyder-directed Man of Steel film. The Boardwalk Empire star originally denied wearing the digitally fashion-forward outfit, when he spoke to MTV, but admitted his humiliation of rocking the MOCAP to Moviefone.
When asked about the nature of his Kryptonian criminal's costume, Shannon, said:
That, my friends, is what we call the ol' switcheroo. While Man of Steel will have a ton of time for post-production work, does having a majority CGI-filmed project bring home the box office bacon? It didn't exactly work out perfectly for The Green Lantern. Guess we'll all have to wait until June 14, 2013, when the film is scheduled for release, to see what the answer is. Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and a host of others.
