TikToker Addresses Viral Video of Her Washing Underwear in Hotel Coffee Maker

In the viral video, which she posted last November, she says she learned the hack from her flight attendant friend.

A TikToker has come under fire for a viral travel hack.

Back in November 2025, Tara Woodcox, an influencer and fitness coach, shared a video showing her followers how to clean dirty underwear in a hotel coffee maker. Since then, the video has picked up traction, now boasting over half a million plays.

In the clip, she revealed that a flight attendant friend shared the “hack.” First, you place your underwear where the grounds normally go in the machine.

“You close it, you press brew, and it puts scorching hot water through it,” she said. “You got yourself a cleaner pair of underwear to wear! I did not realize how many people already knew this hack.” To dry them, she suggested using a hair dryer.

Perhaps this is some sort of running joke with her.

Almost two years before she posted that video, in April 2023, Woodcox confessed that she “never” uses hotel coffee machines because she heard people use them to clean their underwear.

“Does anyone else not use their coffee maker in their hotel room because of the gross stuff that you don’t know what happens in there?” she asked.

On Monday, Woodcox made light of the situation by posting text message screenshots with her friends, where one friend wrote, “People actually think you wash your underwear in a coffee maker and posted it on the internet.”

In another screenshot, Woodcox wrote, “I’m trying to get my underwear out of the keurig right now. It almost melted them.”

Woodcox also responded in a video on Monday. “I've never actually done that—but this is really funny, you guys.”

Commenters across all four posts are livid, with some saying she deserves the $1 million lawsuit against her by a hotel, though there is no such lawsuit filed as of yet.
