A number of reboots and spin-offs of cult classics are in the works, and now we have another one to add to the list: The Sandlot.

The Sandlot director David Mickey Evans appeared on the Rain Delay podcast to share that “he has sold a pitch for a television series sequel to the original movie that will bring all the original cast members back,” per Slashfilm.

For those who haven’t seen the cult film, The Sandlot focuses on a group of young boys who become close over a mutual love for baseball, being afraid of the Beast, and a shared crush on Wendy Peffercorn (a.k.a. that one girl that every boy pines for). If the new Sandlot TV series does feature the same original cast, that would mark the return of Tom Guiry as Scotty Smalls, Mike Vitar as Benny Rodriguez, Patrick Renna as “Ham” Porter, Chauncey Leopardi as “Squints,” and Marty York as “Yeah-Yeah.” The series has already been picked up by a streaming service, though Evans is tight-lipped about which one.

While The Sandlot didn’t become a box office hit—it only grossed about $33.8 million—it gained a massive following after it released on home video, which eventually led to two sequels, 2005’s The Sandlot 2 and 2007’s The Sandlot: Heading Home, as well as a forthcoming prequel.
