Reesa Teesa’s life changed after she went viral for her TikTok series, Who TF Did I Marry?

Across 50 videos, the 39-year-old detailed how she dated, married, and divorced a man she called Legion, saying he was a “pathological liar.” Now, in the months since, she signed with a creative arts agency, is looking forward to a TV show based on her experience, and was also named one of People’s 2024 Creators of the Year.

“It has been a crazy, surreal journey for sure… life is just completely different,” she told the magazine. “You don’t realize how big social media is until you’re in New York City and people know who you are. It’s like, ‘Wow, the reach is far bigger than what you could have imagined.’”

Though she had a bad experience, Reesa said she’s “absolutely” open to love, but that she’s “going to take some time.”

“For me, I really want to date myself," she explained. "I want to learn things about what I like and only answer to myself because I do feel like I was in such a lost space before I met my ex-husband, which is why I ended up involved in that relationship. I don't want to repeat history."

“I don't want to be a cynic. I don't want to be bitter, and I don't want to move too fast because it feels like, ‘Oh, it has been a long time. You should go ahead and heal,' but putting this story out there is part of the healing.”

She also told the publication that going viral helped her achieve one of her lifelong dreams of being a homeowner, calling it a “personal triumph.” In addition to being represented by Creative Artists Agency, Reesa is working on a new book and trying out podcasting.
