Lark Voorhies’ mother kept the actress (mostly) in the dark about an obsessed fan.

Voorhies’ mother, Tricia, appeared in a new episode of the Hollywood Demons docuseries, "After the Bell," where Tricia revealed that a “psycho” fan terrorized Voorhies while Saved By the Bell was on the air.

According to Page Six, Tricia also described the fan as "dark," "obsessed," and "demanding," telling viewers he sent Lark many letters laying out his plan to "be her husband" and warning that he intended to "kill anybody who would try to get in the way of that." The threat was serious enough that Tricia said she was afraid to let her daughter answer the door for a period of time, fearing the fan might show up in person.

To protect her daughter, Tricia said she withheld most of the letters from Lark.

"I didn't want her to have that kind of fear," the mother explained.

She did, however, tell Lark she had a "crazy" fan and instructed her to "be on the lookout." Tricia said she felt somewhat relieved when Lark was on set, noting that "it would be harder for him to get to her, because he's got to get through these layers of security."

Voorhies also appeared in the Hollywood Demons docuseries, her first appearance since publicizing her mental health diagnosis in 2020. A few years before, in 2015, she discovered that she suffers from schizoaffective thought disorder, a condition that combines schizophrenia symptoms with mood disorder episodes.

While Lark didn’t directly address her diagnosis in the doc, she did say, “For any young women, if they’re in this business…don’t give up,” per Page Six.

Elsewhere, she shared that she looks “forward to working” again. She most recently appeared in Peacock’s 2020 reboot of Saved by the Bell, where she reprised her role as Lisa Turtle for three episodes. The original show aired for four seasons, from 1989 to 1993.
