Kevin Hart feels like he could have maneuvered Tom Brady’s Netflix roast a little better.

Last week, the comedian sat down with the Bleacher Report, where he reacted to Brady’s grievances about the roast. Hart was the host for Netflix’s Greatest Roast of All Time: The Roast of Tom Brady back in early May.

“When he says he regretted doing it, I think what he’s referring to is, ‘I could have tapered it a little differently, saying or having a conversation pre of, like, ‘Guys let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this or this,” Hart told Taylor Rooks last week at the 1:12:15 hour mark.

He continued, “Also, what it did for comedy and our climate of sensitivity, I think it was necessary and valuable.”

During the Netflix special, various comedians took the stage to make quips about Brady’s sports career, and made fun of his personal life, like his divorce from Gisele Bündchen. Hart, Jeff Ross, Nikki Glaser, and Drew Bledsoe joked about Brady's divorce, which prompted the seven-time Super Bowl champion to laugh.

But it seems the jokes about his family impacted his son Benjamin and daughter Vivian, whom he shares with Bündchen. Days after the roast, Brady spoke with the Pivot Podcast, lamenting the jokes focused on his family.

"I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way that it affected my kids," the 46-year-old said. "So it's the hardest part of the bittersweet aspect of when you do something—that you think it's one way, then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way it affected the people I care most in the world."

Hart admitted that he could have better planned in some ways.

“I love the moment. I love Tom,” Hart added. “I understand why Tom came back and said what he said, but I understand where it’s coming from. And I think when he says that, he just knows that he could have policed it a little better, if he wanted to, but also not being aware of where people were going to go and how they were going to come in, it’s a learning lesson. So moving forward, if we’re roasting somebody and there’s something crazy that they don’t want, then it’s just a conversation beforehand, and people just go around it.”
