Keke Palmer and Tyler James Williams go way back.

The two were child actors at the same time. Palmer reminisced about those days during her recent stream with PlaqueBoyMax after he revealed he was a fan of Williams’ show, Everybody Hates Chris.

Palmer shared a story about a time when she and a couple of other child actors were hanging out with Williams, all in their early teens. “We all hanging out, kicking it, and we go somewhere. Tyler James, 14, he pull out a Black Card, and we was like, ‘What the hell is that?’ He’s like, ‘It’s a Black Card.’”

PlaqueBoy and Keke both agreed that Williams having a Black Card—the colloquial name for the American Express Centurion Card—was “crazy.”

She then alleged that Williams was “making like $200,000 an episode” at “that age.” The claim caused PlaqueBoy’s jaw to drop. “Oh my gosh,” he said. “Oh yeah. Network TV,” she responded.

However, it seems that Williams might have been paid far less. In a recent conversation with Complex, the 33-year-old dismissed the rumors that he made that much. When Complex’s Mami Tiff asked Williams if it was true that he was paid $250,000 per episode, the actor said, “No, it’s not.”

He continued, “Stop believing anything you see somebody put in big bold letters on the internet. It's not correct. I don't even know where it came from. I heard rumors of it years and years ago. That's not how the entertainment industry works. When you first come in on your first show, your quote is really, really low. Thankfully, it's not where it was back in the day, but no, that's not true.”
