Jordan Peele has revealed that it’s not very likely we’ll see a white man as the star of one of his films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I don’t see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie,” the writer, director, and producer of Us said during an appearance at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Hollywood. “Not that I don't like white dudes. But I've seen that movie.”

THR shares that Peele’s remarks “drew loud applause and shouts of agreement.” He added, “It really is one of the best greatest pieces of this story is feeling like we are in this time—a renaissance has happened and proven the myths about representation in the industry are false.”

Us grossed a total of $88 million at the global box-office during its opening weekend, the second-largest opening for an original live-action film, per THR. Peele’s previous film, Get Out broke records by earning $250 million with a budget of $5 million.

“Very important for me was to have a black family at the center of a horror film,” Peele said at a screening of Us in December, per The Daily Wire. “But it's also important to note, unlike Get Out, Us is not about race. It is instead about something that I feel has become an undeniable truth. And that is the simple fact that we are our own worst enemies.”

“I dedicated a lot of myself to create a new horror mythology and a new monster,” he continued, also adding that he thinks "monsters and stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society.”
